Botanicals contain tannins which are healthy compounds aiding in the overall health and healing of your fish. Tannins can help soften the pH levels of your tanks water, which Betta fish prefer. Botanicals are also antibacterial and antifungal which aid in preventing disease. 

How to prepare your new botanicals for your tank:
This pack should be split in two. As the botanicals degrade and are used by the ecosystem of your tank replace with the rest of the pack. 
Boil all botanicals for at least 5 minutes.
Drain the water from your botanicals. Discard this water. 
Soak your boiled botanicals in clean, dechlorinated water until all botanicals sink.
Add botanicals to your aquarium. You may add this dark water to your aquarium for the added tannins and dark water look.
